Mission statement:

The mission of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School is to be a community of learners where students are challenged to achieve their highest academic, spiritual and physical potentials in a Christian setting.

Head of School Welcome

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the reasons St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School should be your school of choice for the education of your child. Established in 1955, St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School continues to offer a tradition of excellence in academics, spiritual development, and character enrichment that prepares our students for successful life experiences. Small student to teacher ratios allow for a more informal classroom environment and attention to individual student need. Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) frame our curriculums with technology components embedded for instructional technology opportunities. Specialties offered for all students pre-K through 8th grade are music, art, physical education/health awareness, technology and environmental science. Students are also involved in environmental science classes through the outdoor learning center’s wetlands and gardens.

We are proud to offer dyslexia therapy by fully certified academic language therapists trained at Neuhaus Education Center. Students receive therapy services in a one-to-one setting for one hour daily five days weekly. The John Caskey Dyslexia Center is equipped with state of the art software and iPads assigned to each therapy student to allow students to receive classroom accommodations and supports in place allowing for student engagement to optimize learning and classroom participation.

Daily religious studies take place in a bible study format with memory verses, songs, and devotionals. Monday finds students walking across the bridge to the church for a more formal service to begin the week while daily gatherings are held in the school’s less formal chapel meeting space.

Someone once shared that in selecting a classroom for your child, it is best to look at the children’s faces. Are they engaged and eager to learn? Are they participating in the learning experience? Are they smiling and happy to be part of the family of learners and interacting well with peers? Call and set up a tour of our school. Step into our classrooms, talk to our teachers and students, look into their faces, and you will believe we are the school of choice for your and your child.

In His grace,
Dr. Sherry Durham
