Destination Imagination

We are extremely excited to participate in Destination Imagination!

What is Destination Imagination? (D.I.) It’s a high energy, critical thinking, hands on, creative problem solving, exploration into learning.  This program is open to 5K through fifth grade students.

How does it work?

  • A group of five to seven students makes up a team.
  • This team chooses one “challenge” from the DI packet.
  • This team turns on its creativity and critical thinking skills and invents a wonderful skit.
  • The students perform these skits in competitions – locally, regionally, state-wide and nationally!  These competitions can go all the way to WORLD!

Why should my child compete in DI?

Because it’s the best mental stimulation around.  Your son/daughter will learn skills that will last a lifetime.  Those skills may include but are not limited to: woodworking, sewing, painting, simple machines, working in a group, thinking on your feet, public speaking, and stage craft.

It is vitally important that you understand that in order for your child to participate in DI your participation is not only encouraged, it is required.  Each team needs a coach, two judges and an assistant.  There will be some after school meetings and activities that go along with the program.
