St. Cyprian’s offers programs for grades 3K-5th grade.

Are all St. Cyprian’s teachers certified?

All of our teachers are degreed, certified or currently in certification programs.
All of our teachers meet the definition of Highly Qualified as set by the State of Texas.

What curriculum do you use?

We offer a nationally recognized, research-based curriculum with integrated learning across all subject areas and grade levels. Our curriculum is aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

• FOSS (Full Option Science System) Science curriculum based on experimentation
• Social Studies Alive! Social studies curriculum
• Investigations in Data, Time and Space and Harcourt Math curriculum in upper grades
• New Houghton - Miffin Math curriculum in 3K and 4K
• Balanced literacy philosophy which uses Guided Reading methodology
• Teaching emphasis on conceptual understanding and application - the highest levels of Blooms

Do you offer a dyslexia therapy program?

Yes, St. Cyprian’s is well known in Lufkin and the surrounding area as a leader in the field of dyslexia therapy. We have five trained therapists on staff that work one-on-one with our dyslexic students. Please see Dyslexia Therapy under the Academic Life and Admissions section of this site.

What is your student/teacher ration?

St. Cyprian’s offers small classes throughout all grades. Our average class size is 12.

What are your tuition rates?

Our 2007-2008 tuition rates are as follows. Discounts are available for multiple children and for early tuition payment.

• Grades 3K - 4K       $2,808
• Grades 5K - 5th       $5,352

What are your tuition payments plans? When are payments due?

We have several payment plans from which to choose. Please see the Tuition and Fee Schedule.

• Annual Plan: Tuition is paid in full in June prior to the school year. Families receive a 4% discount.
• Semester Plan:  Tuition is paid in two payments, half in June and half in December. Families receive a 2% discount.
• Monthly Plan: We offer 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12-month payment plans. The first payment is due the latter of May 1st or the month of enrollment.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, scholarships are available for students in grades 5K through 5th grade. Applications are accepted in the spring for fall enrollment. Please see the Scholarship Information page.

What are your school hours?

Our preschool (grades 3K and 4K) hours are 8:00am - 11:45am.  Kindergarten and 1st grade hours are 8:00am - 3:00pm. Our upper grades (2nd-5th) hours are 8:00am - 3:15pm.

What are your office hours?

Office hours are 7:45am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, during the school year. Summer hours are 9:00am - 2:00pm Monday through Thursday.

Do you offer before school and after school childcare?

Yes, children may be dropped off as early as 7:30am at no additional charge. Our after school Creative Care Program offers childcare from 11:45am - 5:30pm for preschool age children. Creative Care also offers care from 3:00pm - 5:30pm for upper grades. Please see Creative Care under the Admissions and Academic Life sections of this site.

Do you offer a summer program?

Yes, our Camp Lion Day Camp program is available during the summer months. Camp hours are 7:30am - 5:30pm. Call the school for weeks of operation and tuition amount.

Do you serve hot lunches? Cost?

Yes, St. Cyprian’s offers a hot lunch program. At the end of each month students receive a lunch calendar for the following month and are asked to select the meals they wish to order. Lunches cost $3.00 each when ordered in advance and $4.00 when ordered that day.

Do you require school uniforms? Where do I purchase them?

Yes, all St. Cyprian’s students are required to wear uniforms. Our basic uniform is a red, white or navy polo shirt monogrammed with the school logo and navy or khaki pants, shorts or skirts. You may purchase uniform items anywhere you wish. Shirts can be monogrammed at AAA Trophy and T-Shirt or A Stitch in Time. Please see the School Uniform Policy page.
