PTO Schedule

2007-2008 PTO Activities

St Cyprian’s has a variety of parent/teacher-organized activities and events.  All of these activities promote the unity and strength of our school.  The following list highlights some of these activities:

Homeroom Coordinator - On-going

This volunteer works with homeroom parents to organize all of the P. T. O. activities.

Teachers and Parents in Partnership (TAPP) Weekly

Office volunteers assist teachers and staff with laminating, copying, cutting, and other tasks as needed.  Office volunteers work a flexible schedule but try to assist on Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and on Thursday afternoons from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Hospitality - Quarterly

This committee plans a few luncheons for the teachers and staff during the school year.  The committee coordinates with each grade level’s homeroom mothers to provide the food and to supervise their students in the lunchroom so each teacher can enjoy their lunch. The committee also coordinates and serves refreshments for school visitors.

Magazine Sales - September

This school-organized sale is held at the beginning of the school year.  We take orders for new or renewed subscriptions to all types of magazine titles.  The school benefits by receiving 40% profit on all sales.  Please don’t renew your subscriptions without looking at our sale brochure in September. If you are going to order, you may as well let the school benefit.  The prices are about the same and some are even less!

Sally Foster Giftwrap - September - October

This fundraiser is the sale of quality wrapping paper and gift items.  Their wonderful products make this a favorite (and lucrative!) fundraiser.  Parent volunteers promote excitement, distribute memos and sales catalogs to all students, calculate sales totals, send in orders, and distribute merchandise to students.

Directory - September

Volunteers will copy and bind the school directory for all families in our school.

Fall Festival - October 25th

This FUNdraising festival is held every fall.  Each classroom is responsible for coordinating and working an activity booth.  The committee helps with the overall planning of the event and orders all needed materials and prizes.

Grandparents Day - April 4th

This is our yearly celebration of grandparents and grand-friends in the spring.  The committee will mail out invitations and help plan our presentation with the assistance of the teachers.  They will coordinate refreshments, serve and clean up.

Teacher Appreciation Week - May 5th - 9th

During Teacher Appreciation Week, combined grade level volunteers provide and oversee lunch in the teacher’s lounge and various special projects for the teachers throughout the week.

School Supplies - Summer

This committee provides a price list for school supplies needed for each grade level.  They take orders for the supplies, price check, shop, and bag the supplies for the students who order them for the start of the school year.

Last, but not least, is Bayou Bash! - April 4th

This is the largest school fundraiser of the year.  This is a huge dinner and auction that we encourage participation in by all of our all families. Each class provides an item to be auctioned in addition to the many items and services donated by businesses and families in our community. Many volunteers are needed to help with the planning, soliciting and decorating for this fun and exciting St. Cyprian’s legendary Bayou Bash!
