Dynamic Dads and Kids Reading Night
Lufkin – Dynamic Dads and Kids Reading Night begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd in the St. Cyprian’s school gym. This program is promoted by the Department of Education to emphasize the importance of fathers in their children’s lives and the direct connection to academic success in reading.
Dynamic Dads and Kids Reading Night at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School is a time when dads and children have the opportunity to share reading time together. Dads bring blankets and pile up on the gym floor and stories are read aloud using lots of excitement and expressions. Some of the books are focused on the father-child relationship, and others are focused on fun activities between fathers and children. Mrs. Susanne Lively, St. Cyprian’s Librarian, said, “This evening is to encourage reading/story-telling to your children. Dad’s have a huge impact on their children’s literacy just through story-telling and direct verbal/physical interaction with them.”
