Saint Cyprian’s Episcopal School Welcomes New Staff

Lufkin – St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School is pleased to announce the new faculty and staff for the 2011-2012 school year.
Jessica Jackson will be teaching 3rd Grade Language Arts and Social Studies. Mrs. Jackson has a degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University. She has taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Baton Rouge. She and her husband, Cody, live in Lufkin where he works in law enforcement.
Karla Garrett will be teaching 3rd grade Math and Science. She graduated from Lon Morris College with an Associate’s Degree in Mathematics. She received a Bachelors of Science Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Interdisciplinary Studies. She taught Math at Fredonia Elementary in Nacogdoches. Mrs. Garrett is certified in all-level Special Education and Generalist EC-6. She and her husband, Dallas, have a baby girl named Natalie.
Kathy Parten will be teaching 4th and 5th grade Math and Science. She has an Associate of Science in Education degree from Angelina College and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has taught 15 years at Centerville ISD teaching classes ranging from 3rd grade Math to Algebra II. Mrs. Parten taught mathematics at Huntington ISD, Crockett ISD and Livingston AEP. She has been married for 39 years to Larry, and they have three grown daughters and one grandson.
Amy Scarborough will be teaching 3K. She is a Stephen F. Austin State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. She has seven years experience teaching in both the public and private school system. She is married to James, the Family Life Pastor at Harmony Hill Baptist Church, and they have three daughters.
Ashlie Ballard will be rejoining the St. Cyprian’s staff as a 2nd grade teacher. Mrs. Ballard graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She has taught 2nd and 3rd grade for the past nine years. Mrs. Ballard is a Certified Academic Language Therapist. She and her husband, Jason, live in Nacogdoches.
Meet the Teacher will start at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 18th in the St. Cyprian’s gym. The parents and staff at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School will be hosting a prayer walk on Friday, August 19th starting at 7 a.m. All are encouraged to come and walk the grounds of the school and pray for our children to be safe and blessings for a great year. School will begin on Monday, August 22nd at 8 a.m.
