St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School is excited to announce a new opportunity for extended learning for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade called SEEK which is an acronym for Special Enrichment and Extended Knowledge. The purpose of the program is to ultimately provide more hands-on learning in a project-based setting. Each of the specialty teachers in the areas of art, music, technology, Spanish, library and physical education will work with a grade level of students and their teachers an hour a week for six weeks to produce a high-level product. Products could include students creating podcasts for the website or a musical/play based on a book the student has read. Brinn Williford, St. Cyprian’s Head of School, said, “Some of our biggest assets at St. Cyprian’s School have always been our talented specialty teachers. They are extremely excited about having another chance to work with our students to create high-level products that not only demonstrate knowledge, but will be useful to our students and others.”
He said, “St. Cyprian’s School has always been about more than just teaching the basics to its students. Connecting the academic theory with the practical application will enhance the experience of each student enrolled at our school. This is teaching at its highest level, and will provide our students with additional experiences and a stronger foundation on which to build their future academic successes.”
