Chapel Services & Schedule
Chapel Services
St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School was founded in 1955 to offer a Christian foundation for learning. The school is a mission and a ministry of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church. All students and faculty participate in a short, daily chapel service as part of our curriculum. It is an essential goal of St. Cyprian’s School that students have an understanding and appreciation for the basic tenants of the historic Christian faith. Additionally, St. Cyprian’s strives to instill in students the important values of kindness, charity, integrity, and service to provide a strong moral basis for life and leadership among their peers.
Chapel services consist of worship songs, prayers, and a short story or homily from the Bible. All of our students experience Chapel both in grade level groups led by St. Cyprian’s faculty and in school-wide Chapel services led by the Rector of St. Cyprian’s Church or his assistant. In classroom Chapel meetings, students are encouraged to pray for each other, their school community, and the world. In addition, students learn the 23rd Psalm, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Apostle’s Creed, an traditional affirmation of the historic Christian faith.
