The Great Debaters
5th Grade students at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School are learning debate for their SEEK (Special Enrichment and Extended Knowledge) project this six weeks. To show them the ropes, Lufkin High School debate coach Shelley Tatum and debate student/ Lufkin High School sophomore, Maubeen Ahmad , demonstrated the process of a debate. Ms. Ahmad is also a former student of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School. The students were given an opportunity to ask questions in preparation for their debate scheduled for Friday, October 2nd.

Kindergarten SEEK Project “Community Helpers”
The Kindergarten students put on skits about different community helpers for their SEEK (Special Enrichment and Extended Knowledge) project. The community helpers included mail carriers, veterinarians and fire fighters. The children also sang a song in Spanish about community helpers.
UFO Pizza Field Trip - First Grade
The first graders took a field trip to UFO Pizza. They toured behind the scenes and made their own pizza. Students were asked, “What is your favorite kind of pizza?”
2nd Grade Learning Excursion to the Ellen Trout Zoo
Second Grade students at St. Cyprian’s learn all about feeding animals at the feeding lab learning excursion at the Ellen Trout Zoo.
4K Field Trip to the Fire Station
4K students learn about fire safety from the fire fighters at the downtown Lufkin fire station.
Kindergarten SEEK Project at the Disabled Veterans of America Facility
For the past six weeks the Kindergarten students at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School studied about patriotism, American symbols and the true meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance. The students made their own American Flag complete with drawings and symbols of their interpretations of freedom and presented it to the veterans at the Disabled American Veterans Lodge. The students said the pledge, sang patriotic songs, and gave the veterans their handmade flag.

Thanksgiving feasts and a presentation by the 5K students. Happy Turkey Day!
3rd Grade SEEK Project - Spanish Play about the Seasons
The third graders perform in a play directed by Spanish teacher, Mrs. Haro. The play is done in Spanish, and it is about the seasons.
