Saint Cyprian’s Episcopal School Welcomes New Staff

Lufkin – St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School is pleased to announce the new faculty and staff for the 2010-2011 school year.

Greta Bain will be teaching Spanish. Ms. Bain has taught Spanish for 4 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Advertising/Marketing with a minor in Spanish from Sam Houston State University. She has been working on her Master’s in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking, gardening and playing with her 5-year-old son.

Traci Enos will be teaching 3K preschool and will be the afternoon Administrative Assistant in the front office. Mrs. Enos received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has worked fourteen years teaching in various settings from healthcare and penal institutions to community supervision (probation) and school systems. Traci and her husband, Walter, have two children Kathryn and Hayne who both attend St. Cyprian’s School.  In her spare time, Traci enjoys riding motorcycles, fishing and watching NFL football with her family.

Janie Fowler will be teaching 3rd grade at St. Cyprian’s. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Social Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has 21 years of experience in education. Mrs. Fowler attended St. Cyprian’s as a child and was a student the first year the school opened in 1955. She is married and has four grown children and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Fowler enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren in her spare time.
         
Sara Lowery will be teaching 3K preschool. She has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University. She has five years teaching experience as a teacher at WeeCare Mother’s Day Out program at Lufkin’s First Baptist Church. She is married to Jason and has two children, Grady and Sawyer. In her spare time she enjoys camping, fishing, kayaking and hunting.

Jane Shepherd will be teaching kindergarten. Ms. Shepherd attended the Savannah College of Art & Design and Texas State University. She received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts with a major in fibers. She is certified to teach Early Childhood through fourth grade as well as all level Art. She has five years teaching experience. She has worked in the Austin area and at Wells I.S.D. She has a daughter, Hazel, who will be in first grade. Ms. Shepherd loves to sew and create fun outfits for her daughter and friends.

Rachel Thomas will be teaching first grade. She attended college at Ohio University where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Consumer Sciences. She has ten years experience in education. She is married to Jeremy and has two girls, Bailey and Jordan. She enjoys reading, swimming and baking new recipes.

Meet the Teacher will start at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 19th in the St. Cyprian’s gym. The parents and staff at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School will be hosting a prayer walk on Friday, August 20th starting at 7 a.m. All are encouraged to come and walk the grounds of the school and pray for our children to be safe and blessings for a great year. School will begin on Monday, August 23rd at 8 a.m.
