Teaching Philosophy
“Throughout history the teaching profession has considered several key ingredients as essential to the formation of a good teacher. Among these are a loving and caring attitude tempered with disciple. A good teacher needs to have compassion but also needs to motivate the students to greater achievement. The effective teacher desires to monitor and direct students in order to gain maximum benefits for each child. This includes meeting the needs of each child with regard to learning styles and ability levels.
The art of teaching is much like a balance scale. All of these characteristics must be in place for the classroom to work effectively. If one or more of these items is not in place the class may suffer. Our job is to maintain this balance in a valuable way so that each child will find success.
My desire as a classroom teacher is to not only have each child succeed academically but also to pass a love of learning on to the children in my class while providing a caring environment.”
